TO PLACE AN ORDER: Please contact me by email at JohnMoranPhoto@gmail.com or telephone (352.373.9718) for further information or to place an order. I accept payment by Visa/Mastercard or check. If I'm not traveling, I typically complete orders within a few days at my studio in Gainesville. Larger pieces (beyond the 31x42" frame size) are printed off-site and take longer to complete.

I print my photos on heavyweight fine art paper using archival inks. My framing style features a hand-torn deckled edge with a floating mat presentation. For framed photos, I use a premium off-white suede matboard. For matted photos, I choose a matboard that complements the colors of the selected photograph. I use premium brushed metal frames from Nielsen's Florentine Silver collection (frame profile 93 on sizes up to 18x24, and frame profile 99 on larger sizes), as shown in the sample photo above.

My photos make memorable awards and presentation gifts. An optional personalized inscription card, printed on marbled paper as shown below, can be placed on the matboard for an additional $10.

My Florida photo collection is also available at Sweetwater Picture Framing (www.SweetwaterPictureFraming.com) in downtown Gainesville next to the Hippodrome Theatre. Owner Dan Randall is personable and professional and offers a wide range of custom framing options, including both wood and metal frames.

Sweetwater Picture Framing also offers diploma framing featuring my University of Florida campus or alligator photos. The shop is located in the Sun Center at 101 SE 2nd Pl., Suite 109, Gainesville, FL 32601. Hours ordinarily are Tuesday-Friday 10-5, Saturday 10:30-2. (Closed last Saturday of the month; off-hour appointments are available.) I suggest you call ahead at 352.373.5745 to confirm the shop is open.

Journal of Light: The Visual Diary of a Florida Nature Photographer

Hardcover, 128 pages. 77 photographs, 36 essays.
Published by University Press of Florida
For a preview of the book, click here.

About the book, one critic writes,"...a reminder of Florida's enormous capacity for natural majesty; it's a remarkable souvenir of the mystique of a rare place... Moran's essays resonate with an honesty and compassion that fully inform the art behind the photographic technique. His words express a sensibility that is as authentic as it is admirable... [A] subjective ode of wonder and affection and art."

This collection of images and essays are highlights from Moran's odyssey to discover the soul of one of the most photographed states in the country, and features Moran's well-known photographs of the alligators, beaches, birds, rivers, springs, trees, turtles and flowers that make Florida the amazing place we call home.

Signed and personally inscribed copies of Journal of Light are priced at $34.95.

Finding Yourself: A Spiritual Journey Through a Florida Garden

In seven visits over three years, John Moran joyfully photographed one of America's great botanical treasures. Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales is a place of deep spiritual refuge, crowned by a magnificent 200-foot tall Gothic Revival carillon tower. The photos are artfully interweaved with a beautiful poem by Bill Maxwell, columnist for the Tampa Bay Times.
